Vendors/Expenditures
Any recipient of funds from a political committee is a vendor. An
expenditure is any purchase, payment, distribution, loan made, transfer of
funds, or gift of money or anything of value.
Types of expenditures
There are three types of expenditures:
- Transfers out
- Loans made
- Expenditures
Vendors/Expenditures included
Political committees file reports that include itemized receipts and
expenditures. An expenditure is itemized when the vendor has receivied
more than $150 from the committee during the reporting period.
Expenditures to vendors receiving less than $150 are not itemized on committee
reports, and are therefore not included.
If a political committee files electronically, all itemized vendor/expenditure
information is available. Vendor/expenditure information is not available
for reports filed on paper.
Information available for each vendor/expenditure
- Amount and date of expenditure
- Purpose of expenditure
- Beneficiary of expenditure
- Vendor name and address
